I created this website to write about the Bible, the Word of God. Within biblical dogma in general, you will notice that I am particularly interested in the subject of biblical healing.
Hello, I am Robbie Fernandez Larsson. I was born and raised in Argentina, but I have lived in the United States for many years. I was raised in the Christian faith and sent to Sunday school at a very early age, so I do not remember any time in my life when I did not believe in the God of the Bible and in Jesus Christ. Like so many Christians (most?), there were times in my life when the Word of God was not my primary interest, to my own detriment.
I have been interested in biblical healing for many years. I have read, listened, and watched many biblical faith healers including Andrew Wommack, Nancy Dufresne, Rod Parsley, Sandra G. Kennedy, Billy Burke, Oral Roberts, and others. I especially became interested when they referenced scripture to back up what they were doing. I did not know there was so much about healing in the Bible, both Old and New Testament!
You may say, I think some of those people are a bunch of charlatans. I can see how some people could think that, but I started asking myself how long can somebody claim to heal people without doing so and before people realize they are fake? Probably not too long.
When I went to the Bible, I found the answer to that question in the words of Jesus Christ Himself. In chapter 9 of the book of Matthew (also mentioned in Mark and Luke), Jesus was In Capernaum, on the shores of the sea of Galilee. People brought to Him a paralytic man to be healed. Jesus forgave his sins and told him to get up and go home, which he did.
The scribes (Jewish record-keepers and theologians) that were present started talking among themselves, rebuking Jesus’ power to forgive sins. Jews strongly believed this was a prerogative of God alone, so to say “your sins are forgiven” was a blasphemy to them. Jesus read their thoughts and said to them, “which is easier, to say, ‘your sins are forgiven, and the penalty paid,’ or to say, ‘get up and walk’?”
Think about this for a minute. What the Lord is saying here is that it is much more compelling and convincing to heal somebody than to say to them “your sins are forgiven.”
If somebody forgives your sins, you would never be able to prove that in the natural world. It is an intangible concept. Conversely, if somebody miraculously healed a paralytic person, and that person got up and walked home, you would be instantly convinced because you would see it with your own eyes.
The Jewish scribes did not see that. They were just too wrapped up in religious concepts such as who could forgive sins, what could be done in the Sabbath, etc.
I invite you to believe what you see with your own eyes but also to have faith beforehand, so that you are ahead. How? Faith to believe the word of God is the very essence of receiving the promises that He says we can have.
In Romans 10 the apostle Paul said that “… faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” In those times there were no printed Bibles around, and most people could not read anyway. So, the word of God—the Bible—can help build your faith. In our days Paul would have said, “read the Bible to get faith,” or something to that effect.
